This FDK STEM project explores environmental inquiry by questioning the needs of living things to create an outdoor sustainable garden, observe the stages of the life cycle of butterflies and launch butterflies into an innovative butterfly garden.

Guided Mathematics in the Primary Grades (K-3)
This project explores guided math as a framework for math instruction. A numeracy continuum of key ideas was created with next steps to support targeted guided math instruction. Tasks were created to support independent learners during guided math.

Creating STEAM Activities to Engage Learners in Mathematical Thinking and Problem-Solving
An exploration of how technology can be embedded into mathematics with a collaborative inquiry approach. This project will develop inquiry, problem-solving and critical thinking skills by using technology as a part of programming and assessment.

Kindie/Grade 1 – Assessment, Tracking and Reporting
Kindergarten teachers worked together with the Grade 1 teachers to explore the idea of setting up their classroom layouts (The Third Teacher) to enhance learning and also by setting up digital portfolios.

Learning Beyond the Brick Walls
This project was undertaken to explore nature and to increase our knowledge and use of the outdoors and our local conservation area with our FDK program. We wanted to implement changes to the physical space and gather outdoor teaching resources.
