“Take Me Outside”: An Early Years, Urban/Rural Environmental Inquiry
The goal of our project incorporated outdoor learning as part of our weekly timetables. The outdoors became natural extensions of our classrooms both in the urban and rural settings. Educators fostered deep connections to the natural world.

This project grew out of a curiosity and eventual frustration with the way a four-framed report card template changed the way that educators were approaching their documentation. In our documentation, we explore the ways in which this process occurs.

To create an environment that inspires students to explore and connect with nature. Have students explore local/native plants and wildlife, including birds and insects. Encourage them to be active as children/students/citizens in their community.
