This OTF conference was designed for teachers who wish to learn more about the interplay between pedagogy and technology. It focused on the pedagogy afforded us by various applications of technology in support of student learning. Participants left with ideas and practical examples on how they can effectively apply the technologies to their classroom practice.
The Interplay: Pedagogy, Learning & Technology: This group session, led by Brenda Sherry and Peter Skillen, discussed the deeper learning and powerful practices leveraged by the affordance of technologies as well as the roles of teachers and students in understanding of global competencies.
Breakout Sessions: These sessions included topics such as Cross-class digital collaboration; Using digital tools for formative feedback; TLLP: One acronym you need to know about; Provincially-licensed digital tools (VLE and more); Blogging in elementary schools; mPower K-6 and many more.
Minds on Media: Several presentations such as Using digital tools for formative feedback; Mindomo: More than just mindmapping; So, a Robot, a Cardboard Box, and a Circuit Walk Into a Bar…; Why critical thinking and coding are the perfect match; and Let’s get involved in global projects.
