December 6, 2014 marks the 25th anniversary of the 1989 École Polytechnique massacre, in which armed student Marc Lépine murdered 14 women and injured 10 others, because they were women.
Since 1991, December 6 is the National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women in Canada.
OTF asks you to observe a minute’s silence on December 6 to remember all women who have died or suffered from gender-based violence and to join the movement to end all forms of violence against women.
There are numerous resources available such as the White Ribbon campaign, the Ontario Women’s Directorate and Status of Women Canada.
