Survey on books being taught in English classrooms, Grades 7 to 12

This survey only takes about three minutes to complete and it may shape the Ontario cultural strategy and funding for schools.

The Ontario Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Sport has identified a lack of Canadian content in schools as an area of concern that they plan on addressing over the next three years. OBPO has pointed out that most of the information about which books are taught in Ontario schools is largely anecdotal. As a result, the Ministry has approved a grant for an OBPO research project to learn exactly what books are being taught in Ontario secondary schools.

The results of the research project will help OBPO to advocate on behalf of teachers for funding to purchase new resources for classroom use.
