TORONTO, June 13, 2016 — The Ontario Teachers’ Federation (OTF) welcomes the announcement that MPP Mitzie Hunter has been appointed as Ontario’s Minister of Education.
“We congratulate the new Minister and we look forward to working with her on behalf of Ontario’s teachers. We look forward to working with her to make Ontario’s world-class education system even better. Education is an investment in the future,” said Francine LeBlanc-Lebel, President of the Ontario Teachers’ Federation.
“We also wish to thank outgoing Education Minister Sandals for her work on behalf of Ontario’s education system,” said LeBlanc-Lebel.
The Ontario Teachers’ Federation is the advocate for the teaching profession in Ontario and for its 160,000 teachers. OTF members are full-time, part-time and occasional teachers in all the publicly funded schools in the province—elementary, secondary, public, Catholic and francophone.
