The Ontario math curriculum is composed of expectations (the content) and processes (the actions of doing mathematics). The math processes are all about thinking about and doing mathematics. Doing mathematics is pleasurable. This session will explore ways to make mathematics more playful while infusing process and problem-solving into your program. To do that, we will “play with our math.”
In this webinar, participants will engage with a variety of interesting and playful tasks, from sorting socks, to playing with decks of cards, to flipping coins, to learning about math games. Participants will learn to think through and experience the pleasure of solving interesting problems that they can then try with their students.
