In this session, you will hear from educators who are working to improve their mathematics teaching practice in a school where 40% of students are Canadian-born ELLs. Participants, along with the presenters, will explore how their practice as learners and educators can change to positively influence student achievement in the comprehension and communication of math concepts. Participants will leave with ready-to-implement strategies for improving the teaching and learning of mathematics for ELLs, as well as links to resources to further their understanding.
