In this webinar, participants will be reflecting on the importance of using and embedding digital tools in teaching and learning mathematics for diverse learners. Participants will explore:
- how and why goals in the Grades 1-8 Math Curriculum and the 21st Century Competencies: Foundation Document for Discussion support the use of digital technologies in mathematics learning.
- why and how digital tools support learners in making connections between the real and mathematical world
- how digital math manipulatives and environments can provide necessary differentiations for students with diverse learning needs (including exceptionalities and accommodations in formal IEPs)
- rich open math tasks using mathies online tools together to promote a growth mindset and support learners at various stages of understanding to find a place to start and grow
