The Facts on Education: Standardized Testing Does Not Lead to Improved Educational Outcomes for Students

Educators and students should be provided with assessment tools to identify issues and gaps for individual students. This conclusion comes as a result of a research study conducted by the Canadian Education Association (CEA) with researchers from the University of Prince Edward Island’s Faculty of Education. While there is some support for standardized testing, overwhelmingly, research suggests that it does not lead to improved educational outcomes for students.
