An inquiry approach was used to assess the sustainability of local communities and the environmental impact of traffic on air quality in these communities. Students then debated the merits the proposed escarpment highway in a town hall setting.

iPad Integration in the Research and Inquiry Process
Using the inquiry process, we examined and tested many iPad apps. We facilitated trials during various inquiry tasks, then gathered student feedback. We generated recommendations based on the utility of apps examined for the inquiry process phases.

Modification and Redefinition of the Secondary School Classroom
In order to modify and redefine our classroom within the 1:1 iPad deployment, an array of additional materials and conceptual frameworks are necessary including Pasco probes, USB microphones, portable recording booths and a Microsoft Surface Pro.
