Come Together, Over Math!
Building a comprehensive numeracy program in Grade 7 and 8 French Immersion. Our group met to explore and develop mental math problems, 3-part math lessons, games centres, technology-based math resources and a division-wide Mathapalooza celebration.

Examining and Exploring Assessment and Evaluation Within a Problem-Based and Spiralling Framework
This action research was developed to use learning maps, learning goals and success criteria to direct student’s regulation of learning. We developed assessment and evaluation tools that encourage a growth mindset (such as math games).

Exploring Spatial Reasoning Through Coding

Teachers will engage in professional learning opportunities on how to use the various coding apps and tools and collaborate with a lead teacher to support implementation in class.

Promoting Student Understanding Through Communication in the Mathematics Classroom
The development of student communication in mathematics is an effective way to enhance learning in the classroom. By encouraging students to think, talk and write about mathematics, they are deepening their understanding of mathematical concepts.

Improving the Numeracy Mindset of Grade 9 Math Students
If students work on problems stemming from an overarching learning goal through various strategies, then the students will be motivated and demonstrate their understanding while cultivating their growth mindset.
