“Manipulatives are necessary tools for supporting the effective learning of mathematics by all students”.  (The Ontario Curriculum:  Mathematics; 2005; p. 25).

In this webinar, teachers will discuss:
1) how to incorporate the use of manipulatives in a problem-solving math classroom (Grades 4-6) to deepen and extend students’ understanding of mathematical concepts from all five strands.
2) how analysing how students use manipulatives can provide teachers with insight into student understandings (and misunderstandings) of concepts
