The Learning Environment is an AQ course that focuses on creating an effective and inclusive classroom environment for all learners. You will have the opportunity to explore various teaching and behavioral strategies to support students’ diverse needs in the classroom in a supportive, safe and inclusive way. You will explore more about systems that will support all learners through a special education lens (e.g. implementing strategies from the IEP, differentiation, environmental considerations etc.). In addition, this course will introduce strategies for creating and maintaining a positive, equitable, inclusive, and engaging classroom community while recognizing students’ individual strengths, needs, interests, and identity. Educators will develop the essential skills of program and lesson planning, assessment and evaluation while considering the classroom environment as a whole. This course will give you the resources and strategies needed to support your teaching and learning in your own classroom in a practical and effective manner.
