This course is for teachers of Aboriginal children whether they are teaching in an all-Aboriginal class or in an integrated class. The course content examines such topics as:
- Historical developments in Aboriginal education
- Curriculum and the Aboriginal child
- The function of the school in Aboriginal communities
- The role of the teacher
- Communication and how to improve it
- Sensitivity to other cultures and sets of values
- Current developments in the field
Practical activities form an integrated part of this course.
