Teaching English Language Learners part 2 develops teacher expertise in the theory and practice of second language teaching and learning. This course will explore theories of language acquisition in depth, and consider the implementation of a safe, welcoming and equitable environment. It will develop expertise in ongoing and initial language proficiency assessment, programming development and modification. It will finally explore parent and community connections necessary for success. Part 2 meets all of the requirements and expectations of the Ontario College of Teachers.
