This course provides advanced instruction in the practice of the teacher-librarian, building upon your foundation from Part 1. You will continue to study the program role played by the library resource centre for students and teachers, and acquire skill in evaluating the full array of information technologies from the stand point of their contribution to the school program. You will examine some of the controversial issues that you may face around selection of materials and the criteria used to develop balanced collections for all learners. You will also explore strategies to make the library the central hub of the school curriculum and to ensure the best possible use of resources throughout the school, and consider the important role of the library in the advancement of literacy and the effective use of technology in the school.
