Part 2 of this Additional Qualification course is to extend the learning and apply knowledge and skills of teachers in Special Education. Teachers will enhance their ability to assess, design, deliver and effectively program for students who are identified with exceptionalities.

The focus of the course will address the legal issues, Ministry Documents and other resources as it relates to the understanding of assessment, IPRC process, Individual Education Plans (IEP), Human Right legislation, Assistive Technology and programming in order to meet the needs of individual students. Candidates will examine Boards’ Special Education programs plans and services and community agencies as they relate to supporting students and parents.

The course requires a minimum of 125 hours of work by the candidate.
