This is an introductory course that focuses on both the theory and practice behind special education in Ontario schools. Teachers will walk away from this course with the knowledge, skills and confidence relating to:

  • all categories of exceptionality in Ontario
  • teaching strategies that can be used to reach every student
  • experience with effective program planning

This course will explore how students with special education needs can be effectively integrated into the regular classroom. Course participants will review a variety of Ministry of Education documents as well as explore new and innovative trends as they pertain to inclusive education.

This course would be of interest to every teacher; not only those looking to teach in special education classes. The advantages of the online format are that you will be able to collaborate with fellow teachers in an online environment by sharing your ideas and resources – but on your own schedule.
