This webinar will focus on supporting teachers with ways to infuse indigenous histories into learning opportunities for intermediate and secondary students (7-12). More specifically, we’ll uncover how the history of settler colonialism in North America has created various systemic crises within indigenous communities. We’ll explore how my book, Signs of Your Identity (FotoEvidence Press, 2016), uses anecdotes and reflections from 25 Indian Residential School survivors to engage students and open the door to discussions about trauma and healing.
Participants will also have an opportunity to qualify for a free book giveaway. Limited copies of Signs of Your Identity available. Presented by: Daniella Zalcman. Please visit OTF Connects for additional information and registration.
