Join Havergal teachers for a rich and thought-provoking dialogue surrounding best practices in early learning. Leslie Siegrist-Hood, Laura Logaridis and Katie Tranter will take you on a journey through the early years program at Havergal College, which incorporates principles of play-based learning, Reggio Emilia-inspired settings and inquiry.

During this one-day workshop, the presenters will examine best practices in early learning that will help enhance the current Full-Day Early Learning Kindergarten Program in Ontario. Attendees will explore the classroom environment, examine the organization of classroom spaces and discuss pedagogical documentation and project work. Educators will reflect upon the ways in which authentic and student-initiated learning promote literacy and numeracy development as well as essential learning skills such as collaboration, critical thinking and communication.
