One of the commitments in the TDSB Multi-Year Strategic Plan is to support school leaders to build their capacity in mathematics content knowledge and identify effective mathematics classroom practices. In support of this commitment the TDSB, Central Math Department is offering the Primary/Junior Math Additional Qualification courses to school math teams.
The TDSB Mathematics, Primary/Junior Additional Qualification Part 1 and 2 courses are designed to critically explore, examine and implement what it means to know mathematics for teaching mathematics in the Primary & Junior divisions.
• Part 1: enhancing professional practice and extending knowledge and skills
• Part 2: enhancing professional practice; extending, applying and designing learning opportunities and skills
Candidates will critically inquire into professional practices, pedagogies, and ethical cultures through dialogue, collaborative reflection and job embedded teaching and learning.
Note: These courses will only run if the minimum course enrollment of 20
participants is met.
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
• Certification of qualification and registration with the Ontario College of Teachers
• Must be a TDSB staff member
