In the Senior Division History Additional Qualification Course at OISE, candidates will examine the teaching of history at the senior level in the 21st Century. Particular attention will be given to understanding the challenges facing educators in an educational environment that is constantly changing. This AQ will examine traditional pedagogies while exploring the role technology plays in the 21st Century classroom. As a group we will re-imagine the classroom to create an environment that encourages critical thinking and inquiry while simultaneously reinforcing our students’ role in an ever changing society and preparing them for the next step in their educational careers.
Prerequisites
- Certificate of Qualification:
Must be registered with the Ontario College of Teachers or hold an interim Certificate of Qualification. Must hold an acceptable university degree or equivalent. It is no longer necessary to send in a copy of your Certificate of Qualification. We have access to this information via the OCT Public Registry. - 2 Full University Degree Credits in the Subject:Official transcript(s) showing proof of successful completion of a minimum of 2.0 university degree credits or the equivalent in the teaching subject.
PLEASE NOTE:
1.0 university degree credits is the equivalent to 1 full year course, or, 2 half-year courses.
