The first part leading to the additional qualification in French as a second language allows participants to acquire a solid foundation and a good understanding of the vision and philosophy underlying the effective teaching of this subject. This course is intended for people working at the elementary or secondary level who have a basic qualification in teaching at the primary, junior, intermediate or higher education and who have already studied French at secondary or post-secondary level.
The ability to provide a positive learning experience for all students is essential to the delivery of a French as a second language program. The participants learn to combine their knowledge of child development and learning with their knowledge of effective teaching of French as a second language.
This course is an introduction that focuses on relevant research that underpins the effective teaching of French as a second language. It is intended for teachers who wish to acquire basic knowledge and skills in teaching French as a second language.
Prerequisites: Complete the Language Proficiency Declaration if you are an English BEd. graduate
