Using the Seven Grandfather teachings and Medicine Wheel teachings as a framework, candidates will explore traditional teachings, histories, current issues and cultures of First Nations, Métis and Inuit Peoples. This course will provide candidates with the knowledge to create curriculum embedded with Indigenous knowledge and ways of knowing.
Topics will include, but are not limited to, Indigenous Culturally Relevant and Responsive Pedagogy, local traditional knowledge and historical and contemporary contributions of Indigenous peoples and their connections to culture.
