Course Description
Develop your leadership skills and professional practice in environmental education in this Specialist course. Engage in collaborative inquiry with elementary and secondary teachers to study and critically analyze the theory and practice of environmental education. A combination of lectures, workshops, outdoor and experiential learning, field trips, and guest speakers will be utilized to further develop participants’ research and presentation skills as environmental education leaders. This course offers maximum flexibility for participants’ learning needs through a blended course format (in-class and on-line hours).
Prerequisites
Prerequisites for Specialist:
- Completion of Part 1 and Part 2:
Evidence of the completion of Part 1 and Part 2 as shown on your Certificate of Qualification. It is no longer necessary to send in a copy of your Certificate of Qualification. We have access to this information via the OCT Public Registry.
- Certificate of Teaching Experience – 2 Years:
Evidence of at least two (2) years of successful teaching experience, including one (1) year of experience in the subject in which the qualification is being sought. This experience must be certified by the appropriate Supervisory Officer on the ‘OISE Certification of Teaching Experience Form’.
