This course provides the teacher with the opportunity to explore the pedagogical and content knowledge necessary to develop and deliver a dynamic and engaging English program for students in grades 11 and 12. Course readings, discussions, activities and projects will support candidates in developing teaching and learning strategies in the context of current assessment and evaluation practices and help in addressing the diverse needs of Senior English students at all levels.
Prerequisites
- Certificate of Qualification:
Must be registered with the Ontario College of Teachers or hold an interim Certificate of Qualification. Must hold an acceptable university degree or equivalent. It is no longer necessary to send in a copy of your Certificate of Qualification. We have access to this information via the OCT Public Registry. - 3 Full University Degree Credits in the Subject:Official transcript(s) showing proof of successful completion of 3.0 university degree credits in English.Note: some Drama and Creative Writing courses may be accepted, but at least 1.0 credits must be ENGLISH coded.PLEASE NOTE:
1.0 university degree credits is the equivalent to 1 full year course, or, 2 half-year courses.
