Today’s students are immersed in a changing and challenging world. They have a deep interest in many of the world’s greatest challenges: poverty, peace, environmental sustainability, food and water security and indigenous issues. They also are prolific users of social media to connect, collaborate and create to investigate these complex issues. Explore some of these topics and learn how to integrate these real world issues into your classrooms while connecting with students from across Canada and around the world. Learn how to connect with experts and stakeholders in these fields while engaging in deep discussions using collaborative classrooms, webinars and a variety of social media platforms. We will provide examples of student projects, ways to connect with individuals and organizations and suggestions of projects that will engage your students in this exciting way of learning.
