Description

Study the foundational aspects of secondary school programs and strategies for their effective implementation; focus on role of the department head as curriculum leader with particular emphasis on curriculum-development skills, adeptness in initiating and sustaining vigorous intellectual inquiry; identify essential cognitive process and concomitant instructional strategies; investigate evaluation of student achievement and academic programs.

Prerequisites

• Member in good standing with the Ontario College of Teachers
• Hold an undergraduate degree of 120 credits, of which 54 are in the subject specialty, with a minimum 70% (B) average), or the equivalent
• Two years of teaching experience, of which one must be in the specialization sought
