• understanding learning theories and the particular learning needs of the adolescent in the Media Arts Senior division
• applying the elements and principles of Media Arts to create meaning
• demonstrating knowledge of Ministry of Education curriculum policy and resource documents (including the Trillium List) and school policies for the senior division
• knowing how to modify and accommodate the needs of students with exceptionalities
• modelling the use of media arts as part of an instructional strategy
• creating meaning through a thematic approach to program delivery
• planning and organizing an effective and safe program for the adolescent learning environment in Media Arts
• understanding how to design, develop and manage a hybrid physical and virtual learning environment.
•  understanding and implementing methodologies that support a formative and summative assessment (for example, assessment as learning, assessment for learning and assessment of learning) strategy for the study of Media Art
