This course will emphasize the leadership role, introducing topics such as the development of educational materials; sourcing literature and research to develop or improve curriculum at the school and board level for all students. See website for admission requirements and course materials.
Theoretical premises of planning and implementing suitable curricula in the various areas of Family Studies. Instructional strategies, learning activities, and curriculum development will be considered.
The development of Family Studies programs, including such factors as: pupil characteristics, environmental conditions, availability of resource materials, and individual teaching style.
Managerial-leadership skills will be emphasized. Various teaching styles and materials will be developed. Attention will be given to adapting curricula for students with special needs.
Current methods of teaching in the various French programs will be the focus of this introductory course. The topics will include reading and writing, communication skills, and the importance of French culture via dialogues, songs, games, and audio-visual aids.
