Enhance Junior and Intermediate students’ understanding of geometry concepts through coding in Scratch (scratch.mit.edu). In this hands-on session, participants will learn how to code 2-D shapes and other images. Debugging programs and unplugged activities (without a computer) will also be explored. The Geometry and spatial reasoning curriculum expectations from grades 4 to 8 will be addressed. Participants who have previous experience with Scratch. will have an opportunity to try a variety of challenges; however, prior coding experience is not needed.
