Employers, supervisors and workers often do not recognize domestic violence as a workplace hazard. This session, based on the program Make It Our Business (MIOB), will not only help you recognize it but also know how to respond and how to refer victims and abusers to appropriate supports. Learn about balancing safety and confidentiality. Communicate effectively and safely with your employees at risk. Connect to community-based experts. Join the growing number of workplace stakeholders who are understanding the impact of domestic violence in the workplace, and learning about the opportunities to help keep victims safe and to hold abusers accountable for their behavior. This session is facilitated by Barb MacQuarrie, Community Director, Centre for Research & Education on Violence Against Women & Children.
