This session examines the continuum of understanding and skills outlined for fractions and proportional reasoning in the junior years curriculum. Participants explore how manipulatives can be used to support student understanding and independence. Activities will focus on visualization, problem solving skills and developing metacognition. Participants leave with a 3-part lesson that can be adapted for Grades 4-6.
