This Part 3 Specialist program is designed to meet the professional needs of teachers who wish to assume leadership responsibilities in a division, department, school or district. The development of collegial, consultative skills will enable candidates to assist other teachers in their planning and delivery of programs that meet the expectations of the curriculum as they relate to dance. An in depth understanding of dance theory and practice will be demonstrated with a focus on student-centred programs, personal growth, societal awareness and artistic expression. This Specialist program will have a particular focus on curriculum development, implementation and evaluation together with strategies for facilitating in-service programs in dance education.
