This course extends the use of dance as a methodology and the possibilities for integration into other elementary and secondary programs, building upon the concepts developed in Part 1. Emphasis is on the development of specialized knowledge and skills in dance as you explore a variety of forms of dance expression. You will participate in advanced work in movement, different dance styles and cross-curricular links. A focus will be on the assessment and evaluation of students’ work in dance. Current theories of dance education are studied with intensive work on curriculum planning and student assessment and evaluation.
