Movement and rhythm are essential dance conventions, and the heart and soul of all cultures. Dance Part 2 builds upon the foundation set in Part 1 to extend candidates skills and knowledge on Dance Education pedagogical practices to build instructional and evaluative practices to help students 1) develop their own aesthetic criteria through the creative process, 2) evaluate and validate their creative work, and 3) experience and appreciate rich and diverse cultures and societies through dance.

This is an onsite course meaning that while the majority of the instruction will occur in a classroom setting there will also be some online activities. Online activities will be completed during the onsite portion as well as a week after.

Prerequisites

  • Successful completion of the Additional Qualification course: Dance Part One; and
  • One year of successful teaching experience, certified by a supervisory officer.
