In this course about Teacher Leadership, candidates will explore types of leaders, and discover how to categorize their management characteristics. Candidates will learn about leadership styles and how they are suited to different groups and situations.
This course will help you develop an understanding of the foundational skills required in order to build and maintain trusting relationships. We will critically explore the qualities of innovative leaders, the role of growth mindset in leadership, conflict resolution and courageous conversation. Teachers will examine the use of data in teacher leadership and the need to develop balanced lifestyle identifying through the use of case studies, candidates will investigate conflict resolution strategies.
Prerequisites:
- Certificate of Qualification and Registration or Interim Certificate of Qualification and Registration (ICQR) or ICQR (Limited) with the Ontario College of Teachers
- Basic Qualifications in Primary or Junior divisions or Intermediate or Senior divisions in general studies
