Critical thinking, innovation, collaboration, communication and citizenship are at the heart of Elections Canada’s new activities for secondary students. In this webinar, we will explore two lessons to help your students become actively engaged citizens. In Elections by the Numbers, students work collaboratively to develop a creative message about voter turnout. Whether you teach grade 7 Math, grade 10 English, or grade 12 Data Management, this flexible lesson can support your learning goals. In Does Voting Matter?, students practice oral expression, persuasion and critical thinking as they experience the effects of voting. Together, we will explore these two teaching resources and share how students can draw on their creativity and problem-solving skills in many learning contexts.
