This is an experiential workshop providing teachers with an Introduction to Mindfulness: what it is, the brain science behind it, and how it might help us develop strategies to stay resilient in these challenging times. Studies show that how we take care of ourselves through times of stress accurately depicts how well we can respond to our students. Mindfulness and meditation are highly researched techniques with many benefits including more contentment, focus and concentration, and a reduction in reactivity. Although the idea of being mindful is simple and accessible, it requires the quiet determination to be present and to stay present. This workshop offers you ways to incorporate mindfulness into your life. Teacher well-being is vital to a compassionate, thriving school environment.
