This course looks at a variety of teaching and learning strategies that match your educational philosophy against the Grade 11 and 12 Ontario Biology curriculum. One of the primary goals is to help you develop and deliver curriculum that is meaningful and engaging for your future student learners. Much of the course focuses on the collegial discussion of strategies and collaboration is encouraged through a number of activities such as the design of a unit and development of key concepts. Prerequisites
- Certificate of Qualification:
Must be registered with the Ontario College of Teachers or hold an interim Certificate of Qualification. Must hold an acceptable university degree or equivalent. It is no longer necessary to send in a copy of your Certificate of Qualification. We have access to this information via the OCT Public Registry. - 5 Full University Degree Credits in the Subject:
Official transcript(s) showing proof of successful completion of 5.0university degree credits in Biology.Note: for the first Science Senior Qualification listed on the Certificate of Qualification candidates require successful completion of 5.0 university degree credits in the subject. Any subsequent Science Senior Qualification candidates require successful completion of 3.0 university degree credits in the subject.
PLEASE NOTE:
1.0 university degree credits is the equivalent to 1 full year course, or, 2 half-year courses.
