In the Intermediate Division History Additional Qualification Course at OISE, candidates will examine the teaching of history in the 21st Century. Given the challenges educators face today, it is important that History educators constantly look for new and engaging ways to remain relevant in a changing world. This AQ will examine the teaching of history from a pedagogical perspective while exploring the role technology plays in the 21st Century classroom. Our goal is to explore as a group ways to create a classroom that encourages critical thinking and reinforces our students’ role in an ever changing society.
Prerequisites
- Certificate of Qualification:
Must be registered with the Ontario College of Teachers or hold an interim Certificate of Qualification. Must hold an acceptable university degree or equivalent. It is no longer necessary to send in a copy of your Certificate of Qualification. We have access to this information via the OCT Public Registry. - 2 Full University Degree Credits in the Subject:Official transcript(s) showing proof of successful completion of a minimum of 2.0 university degree credits or the equivalent in the teaching subject.
