The Additional Basic Qualification course: French (Second Language) is a prerequisite for teaching French (Second Language) in the intermediate division and serves a diverse group of previously qualified teachers. Candidates include teachers who are making divisional changes, who plan to move into administrative positions, who are new to the Ontario school system, and teachers interested in engaging in ongoing professional learning. Intermediate French focuses on discipline and theory and explores the development of adolescents, program planning and delivery issues. Also included are the elementary and secondary school environment and other issues related to teaching and learning in grades 7 to 10.
